I hear 3 beeps, get a message of FAULTY HANDBRAKE, FAULTY ESP /ASR SYSTEM, and the yellow warning lights for ESP, AUTO P OFF and SERVICE are permanently on. In practice the automatic handbrake does not work when I stop or start, and the Hill assistance is also always off. The handbrake works manually though. I also get ESP/ASR Fault, Parking brake fault coming up Next time I enter the vehicle (after stoping and removing key etc) I get parking brake fault upon opening the door (it disables auto parking brake - but parking brake still works OK on the button press) I get ESP/ASR fault when start the car (it disables the ESP - orange light on the button)
Hi, in my experience with my 07 plate exclusive the handbrake, esp/asr fault can be associated with numourous unrelated electrical faults. I had these faults a few weeks ago a couple of months after fitting a new clutch and flywheel, eventually the car threw the faults up and refused to even start or show any gears on the display.
Ive tried that - when I say the fault isn't there - what I mean is the auto brake works - i.e disengages the car - however as soon as soon as the fault shows the auto handbrake feature stops working. Its like the car is on catch up with the fault. I have a cup of tea in hand which is always a good thing ..I will try your suggestion again though. Re: Citroen C4 Grand Picasso Electric parking brake warning. The fault code should have some more digits afterwards, which you won't get when using aftermarket diagnostic equipment. However, the part of the code you have is enough to tell me that you likely have a rear harness wiring issue. Check the continuity and insulation of the electrical
I have a very similar problem on 2014 Grand picasso Exclusive plus. ESP/ASR system ABS braking system parking brake tyre under inflation fault Anti roll back failed All alarms come on when engine is started. Codes displayed on OBD scanner = P1445 additive adding U1213 Intersystems CAN. Anyone have any idea where i start?

The brake light switch is a well known fault - pretty easy to change (passenger foot well) and the new one (about £30 IIRC) comes with a modified loom section. Richard W.

I left it a minute and then restarted it and had no problem with anything, the engine and handbrake were working fine, and have been ever since. I rang my local Citroen dealer and they booked it in. However they now say that unless the fault is visible there is nothing they can do! Surely they could have carried out a diagnostic test or something.
